On Sunday, the WWE will present their annual sports entertainment extravaganza WrestleMania 30. This year's show will emanate from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana and begins at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. There are two ways you can watch the spectacle that is WrestleMania with the first being by calling your local cable and satellite company for access to the event via pay-per-view. The second way is by subscribing to the brand new WWE Network and watching the pay-per-view for free after signing up for the $9.99 a month service (with a six-month commitment). For 60 dollars, you can watch not just WrestleMania 30 but every other pay-per-view the WWE offer monthly so the service pays for itself. You can watch the WWE Network through different devices such as:
- Apple TV
- Xbox 360
This year's show will be hosted by "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan and feature appearances from "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and other surprise guests. For those with the WWE Network, there will be a two-hour pre-show on the network that will include interviews, predictions and special guests previewing WrestleMania 30. Here is the complete match card along with predictions of all the matches.
Pre-Show Match: The Usos (c) vs. The Real Americans vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel vs. Los Matadores for the WWE Tag Team Titles
Prediction: There was a time a few months ago when the tag team division was as hot as it's been in years. You had Goldust and Cody Rhodes, The Usos, The Shield going tit for tat for the belts and it was refreshing to see tag team wrestling matter again in the WWE ... but that ended kind of abruptly. The New Age Outlaws came back and won the titles and after The Usos won them from the future AARP members, the heat from the division disappeared.
Now we are here at WrestleMania and the tag titles will be contested ... during the pre-show. Los Matadores is a comedy act so they have no chance of winning. The Real Americans will be breaking up soon due to Cesaro being hugely over with the fans so they won't win. That leaves Ryback and Curtis Axel and The Usos ...
I will be taking The Usos obviously. I'm not crazy.
Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational
Prediction: Greatttttt, another multi-diva match. Why can't the WWE just give us a one-on-one divas match with a storyline that has been building for months (i.e. Mickie James/Trish Stratus from WM 22)? This time we have a match that will feature a lot of divas you don't see much of like Alicia Fox and Aksana but it will most likely be the bathroom time for many of the 70,000 people at the Superdome. According to the site NoDQ.com, the result of this match is pretty much determined.
Word is that the finish for the Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational has not been decided on yet but AJ Lee retaining has been pitched with the idea that it's going to be such a "face-heavy" card of winners and they need a surprise heel win.
There's no other diva that is over any more than AJ Lee right now. Yes, the WWE can give the title to one of the Total Divas girls but I don't see them doing that right now (but they will eventually because you know, they don't care about titles or anything). AJ Lee retains in a match dominated by Vickie Guerrero shrieking for no reason.
The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Prediction: A match featuring 30 wrestlers who really had nothing to do during WrestleMania weekend anyway. "No U.S. Title match, no Intercontinental Title match...let's have a hastily thrown together Battle Royal!" The way they are spinning this match, The Miz is a favorite, along with the Big Show but you could never tell in these types of matches. Chaos reigns supreme and Santino could win it just to mess with everyone.
I liked the idea of the Battle Royal at first but after further thought, I'm hoping it's not going to be an annual event like Hulk Hogan continues to say in interviews. I hate picking this match but I will go with The Big Show eliminating The Miz last and starting a pointless feud for the whole month of April leading into the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
The Shield vs. Kane and The New Age Outlaws
Prediction: Along with Cena vs. Wyatt, this is the match that I am looking forward to the most. The idea of The Shield breaking up has been hovering since the Royal Rumble and all that's left to do is for the WWE to pull the trigger on it. I don't even care about Kane or the Outlaws in the match, I just want to see if this is the time where the breakup happens.
The build-up to this match however has been good lasting for over a month, long-term planning that the WWE normally doesn't do. I have The Shield winning this match if they stay intact ... but anything could happen if this is when they pull that trigger.
John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
Prediction: I'm torn on this match. Part of me thinks that Wyatt MUST win this match for fans to take him seriously. A win over Cena would tell the world that the WWE is ready to put a rocket on the The Wyatts and let them go to the moon. A loss would add him to a long list of Super Cena victims that were supposed to be big future stars only to disappear after a Cena lost (Damien Sandow, Wade Barrett and The Nexus). Bray Wyatt needs this win I thought.
I am now half thinking that Cena could still win the match and Wyatt could still come out looking good. Losing to Cena at WrestleMania is not a bad thing really if Wyatt performs the way we all know he can. Given twenty minutes in the ring and some leeway, Wyatt vs. Cena can be a show stealer and a highlight of the show. If can go either way but Wyatt will most likely come out looking like roses in the end.
With that said, Super Cena wins and cements his "legacy". YUCK.
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
Prediction: Does anyone really think Lesnar will win? No. But even when we deep down know The Undertaker will remain undefeated, there's always that doubt that this could be the year. CM Punk, Triple H, heck even Batista gave us reason to think that this could be the year that the streak ends. This year, the WWE has booked the lead up to this match terribly.
Lesnar finally got the upper hand on Taker this past Monday but before that, The Undertaker was always a step ahead of "The Beast Incarnate" and standing tall over the former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Instead of using Lesnar physically and using Heyman to his full potential with the mind games and Oscar worthy promos, they have killed this match to the point where I don't really care about it as much.
Undertaker wins a good match but they have not suspended my disbelief for one second due to the crappy build to this match.
Daniel Bryan vs. Tripe H (Winner to be entered into the WWE World Heavyweight Title Match)
Prediction: The match that CM Punk gave away is Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H. Originally, Punk was supposed to take on Triple H and The Authority leading up to WrestleMania 30 but as we all know, Punk left the WWE back in late January. That set up Bryan getting a big push even though the real-life authority probably did not want to push him. The fans pretty much forced this match and forced the WWE to recognize Daniel Bryan as a legitimate star in the eyes of the WWE Universe.
Triple H making the WWE World Heavyweight Championship a triple threat match no matter who wins this match was a twist but hear my words ... if Triple H wins this match and goes on to win the title, the Superdome will riot and the WWE may not recover for months. Yes, they will still sellout arenas but the fans will turn on the product so fast it will make your head spin.
Daniel Bryan wins the match and moves on to the WWE World Heavyweight Title match.
Randy Orton (c) vs. Batista vs. The Winner of the Daniel Bryan-Triple H Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Prediction: So I believe this match will include Orton, Batista and Bryan. The two heels (Batista is a heel even if the WWE doesn't want him to be) will probably discount Bryan by beating him up, throwing him out of the ring and fighting amongst themselves. Don't rule out an angry Triple H coming out to interfere by either assaulting Bryan and taking him out of the match for an extended period of time or even screwing over Orton, Batista or both.
This is the moment that the WWE has been working up to over the past three months. WrestleMania always ends with some kind of major moment and imagine that moment when Bryan wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with 70,000 people in the Superdome chanting YES! to end the show. That's how it will end up on Sunday night.
