Deadshot a.k.a. Floyd Lawton (Michael Rowe) is back in this episode after being thought to have died at the hands of Oliver Queen (Stephen Arnell), who shot an arrow through his right eye in "Lone Gunman." He survived, however, and, given the episode's promo, appears to be hired by China White (Kelly Hu) to kill Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) as requested by Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson), who wants to leave The Undertaking, in "Dodger."
As the CW's episode description notes, Malcolm invites Tommy (Colin Donnell) to attend a benefit honoring Malcolm for his work with Starling City but Tommy refuses to attend at first. The episode's description and promo, though, suggest that Oliver encouraged him enough to still go, despite the tension that exists between father and son. And, as a result, Tommy will find himself confronting Arrow once the latter tries to put a stop to Deadshot and, indirectly, China White and his mothers' plan at the site of the benefit party.
The CW also states that Oliver will start to struggle balancing his relationship with McKenna Hall (Janina Gavankar) and his duties as Arrow. Last episode, they kissed and rekindled their old romance.
Finally, the Arrow Wikipedia page states that Dinah Lance, played by Alex Kingston, will be guest starring. In the show's canon, Dinah Lance, the mother of Laurel Lance, left Detective Quentin Lance and Laurel after the Queen's Gambit sank and killed her other daughter Sara Lance. As Entertainment Weekly noted, however, Dinah "will return to Starling City to make amends with her family that she abandoned years earlier following the tragic death of her daughter aboard Oliver Queen's yacht." It looks like this is the episode where she begins to mend things...and maybe helps manifest Laurel's future powers as the next Black Canary?
