Last week's episode, "The Friendship Turbulence", began with Penny announcing to the group that she turned down a role in a sequel of the crappy horror movie she was in years prior. Leonard, who has done a terrible job of being supportive this season, questions her decision to not do the movie. Penny, who recently quit her job at The Cheesecake Factory to pursue her career, almost went back to Cheesecake after her car broke down on the way to an audition. Leonard makes up for his terrible supportive ways and buys her a new car so she could continue her pursuit of an acting career.
The saga between Howard and Sheldon continues as Bernadette wants to know why Sheldon continuously makes fun of Howard. Sheldon, who has shown some heart as of late, told Bernadette of years of abuse he suffered from Howard in the past. Howard tries to better the situation by taking Sheldon to tour NASA in Houston and for Sheldon to visit his mother. Although Sheldon still doesn't take Howard seriously as a real astronaut, both men reveal their respect for each other during a turbulent flight to Houston.
In the world of, Raj asked Amy to respond to a woman named Emily who made contact him on a dating website. Emily thinks Raj is too passive and is turned off from him completely but she ends up having a lot in common with Amy. Amy has tea with her until Raj interrupts the meeting ruining any chance of friendship for either of the the girls.
