Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners on Verizon Wireless have been feeling quite neglected for several months seeing as their Galaxy Nexus brothers on Sprint received their Jelly Bean update earlier this month. We even highlighted instructions on how to get Android 4.1 on your Galaxy Nexus, although we understand if you were skeptical and wanted to wait for the official Jelly Bean update to be officially released by Verizon. It looks like the day is finally here as all of you shunned Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners on Verizon can finally update your phones to the goodness that is Jelly Bean.
If you would like to have your Galaxy Nexus updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, first you need to be within access of a Wi-Fi connection. Once you're connected to Wi-Fi, you need to go into your Galaxy Nexus' settings, then click on "About Phone," and then "System Updates." Once you click on that, your phone will search for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, and if it's available, will proceed to download its glory.
This marks the first time a phone on Verizon Wireless receives the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, although we know some other phones on Verizon that would certainly benefit from Jelly Bean. Hopefully Verizon will work on rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to more of its handsets seeing as now is the time Jelly Bean is looking like a much better option than iOS 6 is.
