VH1 released the "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" movie trailer on Thursday. The TLC biopic about the legendary music trio premieres October 22. Drew Sidora, Lil Mama and Keke Palmer will play Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins, Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes and Rozanda 'Chilli' Thomas, respectively.
The TLC biopic details the best-selling R&B female group of all time as they come into fame. VH1 describes the upcoming made-for-TV movie:
"The film, which was executive produced by surviving members Chilli and T-Boz, features the struggles, the rise to fame, and of course the music, that made us want to dance, sing along, and jokingly put a condom on our left eye when the moment felt right. The film is just one more milestone in this group's history, and VH1 is thrilled to be a part of it."
Charles Stone III ("Drumline," "Mr. 3000") is set to direct the TLC movie. Kate Lanier ("What's Love Got To Do With It," "Beauty Shop") is in charge of the screenplay. The film is shot in Atlanta, where TLC catapulted into fame from humble beginnings in the 1990's.
"With this cast, we are thrilled with the talent assembled both in front of and behind the cameras," stated Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President,Original Programming and Production, VH1. "TLC are truly music pioneers and this movie is a fantastic way to expand our scripted push by combining our audience's passion for music with their love of story. We know our viewers will be eager to go beyond the headlines and into the surprisingly personal, never before told stories of these groundbreaking women."
The "CrazySexyCool" teased clip shows reenacted concerts and music videos, including beloved hits "Waterfalls" and "No Scrubs." The first look also reveals the three actresses' uncanny resemblances to TLC. Watch the TLC movie teaser "CrazySexyCool":
