The "Skyrim: Dragonborn" DLC for PS3 release date was promised for early 2013. January has arrived so can we expect to see the expansion hit PlayStation this month? Read on for more info and predictions.
Bethesda first announced that the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC (downloadable content) for PS3 release date was set for early 2013 the day before the popular expansion pack launched on Xbox Live. Another DLC, 'Redguard,' may be coming as early as February.

"We're also happy to announce Dragonborn will be available on PS3 and PC early next year," Bethesda wrote on December 3, 2012, hinting that the DLC release date could arrive as soon as January 2013.
Now that 2013 has arrived, we can't help but wonder how early Bethesda meant when they said Skrim Dragonborn would hit PS3s early this year. It would be great to hear that the DLC is set to arrive by the end of January, but unless the game developer makes a big announcement very soon that seems unlikely.
If the Skyrim DLC for PS3 release date was scheduled for January 2013 we probably would have learned the official launch date back in December, according to Auto Mobile:
"So this has me thinking that Bethesda isn't going to release the Dragonborn DLC for PS3 this month after all. If they were, we would already have been given a date sometime around Christmas. With how peeved PS3 gamers are already with lack of any Skyrim DLC, we doubt Bethesda would have delayed the announcement of a Dragonborn release date unless they really were more than month off."
Bethesda is reportedly had at work recoding Skyrim Dragonborn DLC head of the PS3 release date. In a Bethblog update posted on December 6, the developer laid out their plan for bringing downloadable content to PlayStation gamers:
"For those that are playing the content already, we hope you're having a blast in Solstheim. And as noted in Monday's blog post, we're hard at work to make this content available early next year on PS3 and PC. On PS3 in particular, we turned our attention to Dragonborn, as we thought it was the best content to release first, and we didn't want folks to wait longer. Once it's ready to go for everyone, we'll continue our previous work on Hearthfire and Dawnguard for PS3. Each one takes a lot of time and attention to work well in all circumstances and all combinations of DLC. Once we have a better idea of release timing and pricing, we'll let you know."
On our website commenters have guessed at reasons why Bethesda has taken so long to bring Skyrim DLCs to the PS3 version of the game.
One commenter calling himself Sid explained the delayed Skyrim DLC for PS3 release date, noting that the "PS3 is harder to code for," though he went on the blame Bethesda for snubbing PlayStation users in general.
Another commenter, Givingtwo Cents, joked that the Skryim DLC for PS3 might never arrive:
"Bethesda was betting on the End of the World so they didn't have to release the PS3 Skyrim DLCs. Bethesda still don't have the DLCs yet because they haven't even got started on it. If you think Bethesda is going to release Dragonborn somewhere in 2013, you are only kidding yourselves."
On Twitter, PS3 users continue to urge Bethesda to release the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC for PlayStation as soon as possible.
