Rumors are once again suggesting a March 29 unveiling and April 21 release date for the Samsung Galaxy S8. ETNews recently reported these dates for the Galaxy S8 launch cycle, adding that the device may be available for preorder starting April 13. However, these rumored dates for the Galaxy S8 release cycle have been circulating since mid-January.

Samsung is expected to host a standalone launch event for the Galaxy S8 in New York City. The manufacturer is expected to focus on its tablet line at its upcoming Mobile World Congress press conference Feb. 26. Though there are also reports that Samsung may confirm its next launch event will take place March 29. Samsung has done similar previews in the past, such as teasing the Gear S2 smartwatch during the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ standalone events.

While no details about the Galaxy S8 are yet confirmed, many rumors seem more plausible than ever, considering they keep resurfacing. Tech informant Evan Blass recently shared details about the Galaxy S8 Plus model in particular, which closely match specs that have already circulated.

The specs include a 6.2-inch curved display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel camera main camera, a 8-megapixel front camera and Android Nougat. Additionally the device may feature 4G LTE connectivity, IP68 dust and water resistance, an iris scanner, Samsung Knox, Samsung Pay, wireless charging and AKG headphones.

On Thursday, Samsung also announced its latest Exynos 9 Series 8895 octa-core processor, which pundits suggest may be the chip running the Galaxy S8. There is no word on whether it is too late for the Exynos 8895 chip to be included in the Galaxy S8. Currently, reports indicate the device may run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, which was announced in November 2016. The Galaxy S8 is expected to be the first device to market to feature the Snapdragon 835. However, Samsung often uses its own chips on a select number of flagship handsets. There have been no rumors about other Exynos chips that may be featured on the Galaxy S8.
