The Samsung Galaxy Mega has been officially announced and details and specs have been leaked to the public. In case you thought Samsung didn't already have enough Galaxies in their universe, the Galaxy Mega will be released globally, starting with Europe and Russia in May. The phone/tablet/phablet will arrive in 5.8 inch and 6.3 inch screen sizes. Despite sitting in the weird gap between a phone and a tablet, the demand for these types of devices can't be denied.

The screen sizes of the upcoming Galaxy Mega makes it bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S 4 as well as the Note 2. With the extra .3 and .8 inches of screen area, users will be able to see more information at one time. The screens are said to be of HD caliber, though specific resolutions weren't disclosed. TechCrunch provides a full list of specifications:

On the specs side, the 6.3 inch Mega is the clear flagship of the pair - packing in a full HD screen, 4G/LTE connectivity and a 1.7GHz dual-core chip while the 5.8 inch Mega has a QHD display, HSPA+ and a 1.4GHz dual-core chip. There's also a 1mm difference in thickness, with the flagship being 8mm thick vs 9mm for the Mega 5.8.

Full dimensions for the two devices are 167.6 x 88 x 8.0 mm and 162.6 x 82.4 x 9.0 mm. Weight is 199g and 182g respectively. Both devices have 1.5GB RAM. Memory is 8GB/16GB options for the flagship Mega, and 8GB on board the other. Both support microSD card memory expansion up to 64GB. Battery capacity is 3,200 mAh and 2,600 mAh respectively.

Each device has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing lens. They also both run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, skinned with Samsung's TouchWiz UI.

Samsung has continued to revamp their Galaxy lineup with constant improvements. The Korean company announced their Galaxy Win smartphone just days ago, filling in their need for a mid range smartphone. Read about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Win here or below:

The Samsung Galaxy Win on Android is the company's official mid-range smartphone. We heard rumors that the Korean handset maker would release a budget Galaxy phone alongside their Galaxy S 4 phone. Read on for more information about the Samsung Galaxy Win specs, features and release date.

The Samsung Galaxy Win will run Android 4.1 Jellybean upon launch. Other specs include a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 5 megapixel shooter on the back, VGA on the front, 8GB internal storage and Samsung's Touch Wiz Android layer. The phone will be available in Ceramic White or Titan Gray.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leader in mobile technology and digital media, today announced the Samsung GALAXY Win, an intuitive new smartphone designed to balance the needs of the on-the-go user with massive processing power, multitasking capabilities, and a compact design for ultimate portability. As a unique and practical option for mobile users, the GALAXY Win is equipped to handle demanding tasks while still providing an effortless user experience with intuitive features including dual SIM support for a seamless work and life balance, a large display for optimal viewing, Easy Mode for simple access to most used functions, and many more.

Though only one amongst their many devices, Samsung's Galaxy S 4 is the company's star, so much so that Samsung put on a giant show at Radio City Music Hall in March to ring in the new phone. The precursor to the phone, the Galaxy S 3, has caused much controversy -- giving Apple ammunition for their case against the Korean company and presenting smartphone users with a "Windows" to the iPhone's "Mac." Even though Samsung has yet to overtake Apple in smartphone marketshare, they are the only phone makers to come close.
