With every update and patch to Pokémon Go, more changes are found that are not revealed by Niantic. This latest unannounced change reveals how IVs and Movesets are determined in Pokémon Go .

According to the Silph Road subreddit, a Pokémon Go player took it upon himself to test out differences between Pokémon in relation to a trainer’s level and they discovered that IVs, movesets, height and weight now follow the CP formula for randomization by trainer level.

In layman’s terms, this means that all trainers at Level 1 who find a Pidgey in the same area will have the same stats. Level 10, 20, 30 trainers will find the same Pokémon while a Pidgey found by a Level 10 and a Level 20 trainer at the same time in the same area will be different.

It also seems all Pokémon Go trainers at Level 25 or above will find the same Pokémon with the same stats and movesets.

This may not seem like a big deal, but does explain how Pokémon IVs and movesets are determined. It also can combat those trainers who are “combat spoofing” -- using a program to trick the GPS on your phone to find Pokémon and battle Gyms from the comfort of your own couch -- and IV feeds worldwide.
