With many already owning the Pokémon X and Y new games ahead of the October 12 release date, mega evolutions have been leaking left and right. While many have obtained announced mega Pokémon, others have discovered forms that GameFreak have yet to announce. While we're not sure how far into the game you start receiving mega stones to evolve your pokes, we hope it comes before completing the eight gyms. Being one of the Pokémon X and Y new game mechanics, mega evolutions bring about many important changes to the meta game and even main campaign. See the Pokémon X and Y new mega evolutions below!
With mega evolutions, the Pokémon holding the mega stone is able to power up using a super saiyan-esque transformation. While the pocket monster is able to change and become stronger, it isn't allowed to hold a second item. So even though a Blaziken holding Blazikenite can become stronger and gain access to the Speed Boost ability, it isn't able to make use of things like Choice Band or Quick Claw. Though if you regularly battle without items in Pokémon X and Y, this would be of little importance to you.
The Pokémon X and Y new games release on October 12. Lucky for us, however, the game has come out early in certain regions. With the early release comes facts about Pokémon X and Y that GameFreak may not have announced themselves. If you're wary of Pokémon X and Y spoilers beware. [UPDATE 10.10.13] J_Joestar down in the comment section points out the possibility of Mega Aggron! Similar to how we see the Mega Tyranitar balloon in the super training mode, Aggron too takes on a different form. See the photo below!
[UPDATE 10.14.2013] Thanks to digilord5 on Gamefaqs and Serebii, we have confirmation of other mega forms along with mega stone locations. Some of mega designs we saw coming -- we had a feeling Alakazam would have more spoons, if not a fork and knife or even other kitchenware. Others however are just plain terrifying. Mega Pinsir, for example, looks like something straight out of our last nightmare. Some of the evos just remind us of megazords: we're looking at you Mega Scizor and Heracross. See the new Pokémon X And Y mega evos below!
