Pokémon X and Y news has been scarce since the games have released worldwide, though don't tell that to Diancie, Volcanion and Hoopa. The three alleged legendary Pokémon were discovered on the Global Trade System. What makes this piece of Pokémon X and Y news most interesting is the fact that we no one has encountered these three pokes in the game yet. We've even seen the Z legendary before we've heard more than the names of the X Y trio. The Pokémon X and Y new trio have some interesting types too -- Diancie is rumored to be Rock/Fairy, Hoopa Psychic/Ghost and Volcanion Fire/Water.

[UPDATE 11.1.2013]: Looks like we've got some confirmation regarding Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion. Read about the new Pokémon X and Y legendaries here!

What makes this speculation more interesting is the fact that Serebii added the Pokémon to their site as numbers 719, 720, and 721. While many sites speculate on rumors and spoilers, something we've been guilty of once or twice, Serebii strictly doesn't report on news unless it has been proven fact. With the names Diancie, Volcanion and Hoopa even appearing on the site lends some credence to the fact that these Pokémon X and Y new legendaries may be real after all.

Each of the three legendaries have interesting typings attached to them. The Rock and Fairy type of Diancie makes sense, with GameFreak trying to add the number of Fairy types after introducing the typing this generation. We can already see a Ghost and Pschic Pokémon being able to help out in a situation or two. The Fire/Water is especially interesting if only for the great coverage already built in to this volcano Pokémon.

Nintendo hasn't mentioned when or how we'll see these new legendaries will end up in trainers' games. They could go the Black and White/Victini route and distribute a boat ticket over wifi. In those games, gamers could use their Liberty Pass to go to Liberty Garden -- allowing them to try their hand at catching the victory Pokémon. Another possibility to obtain the Pokémon X and Y new trio would be via a Mystery Gift download. We've seen this done before, but we imagine GameFreak and folks would want people to catch the new 'mons for themselves. Hopefully we find out soon.

Which of the new trio is your favorite? How do you think Nintendo will distribute the Pokémon X and Y new legendary trio? Let us know what you think in the comments!
