Pokémon news time! We've got a whole stack of Pokémon X and Y news this week (much of it refined versions of last week's news slew), including names, images and Abilities for all the five new Pokémon. Plus, in part 2, information on a brand new Pokémon game, Pokémon Rumble U, coming to North America in August. It's been out in Japan for a while, and is very cool, thanks in large part to its use of NFC figures. But enough about that; let's look at the new Pokémon!

Pokémon News: Pokémon X and Y News

First up, as always, is Pokémon X and Y news. Last week, the latest issue of CoroCoro revealed five new Pokémon, as well as the existence of the evil Team Flare. This week, we have the English names of all the Pokémon! Here they are.

New Pokémon: Pangoro

Pangoro is the Daunting Pokémon. It's Fighting/Dark, with the Ability Iron Fist. It evolves from Pancham. According to the official site, "it's a cantankerous Pokémon, but it has a strong heart and doesn't forgive those who pick on the weak." It can learn Hammer Arm.

New Pokémon: Inkay

Inkay, the Revolving Pokémon, is Dark/Psychic (!), a type combo which has never existed before this latest batch of Pokémon X and Y news. It's a squid of some sort, and "transmitters above Inkay's eyes have the ability to drain the will to fight from other Pokémon. It uses this skill to run and hide when attacked by stronger enemies." It evolves into Malamar and has the Contrary Ability, which reverses the effects of stat increasing and decreasing moves. It can learn the new Dark move Topsy-Turvy.

New Pokémon: Malamar

Malamar evolves from Inkay by means as yet unknown. It retains the Contrary Ability and the Dark/Psychic typing. It's the Overturning Pokémon, and "wields some of the strongest hypnotic powers of any Pokémon and can make its opponents bend to its will." It can learn Hypnosis.

New Pokémon: Swirlix

Swirlix is a Pokémon X exclusive that "loves sweets and eats nothing else, making its body as sweet and sticky as cotton candy." That's why it's the Cotton Candy Pokémon. It's a Fairy type, and its new Sweet Veil ability prevents allies from falling asleep.

New Pokémon: Spritzee

Spritzee is a Pokémon Y exclusive, and it "emits a unique fragrance from its body, and any who smell it fall under its spell." It is also Fairy type, and the Perfume Pokémon. Its Ability is Healer, and its "fragrance changes based on its diet." It can learn the Fairy move Draining Kiss.

New Pokémon Professor: Sycamore

See what I did there? We also got Pokémon X and Y news about the new Pokémon Professor, who is named Sycamore. You can battle him (a first), and he looks like a fancy man, rather than a big dweeb.

Also, Team Flare dresses tackily and loves money, but we knew that from the reveal last week.
