"Peep Show" series 8 is rumored to debut later this month. The long awaited return of David Mitchell and Robert Webb's classic British sitcom was confirmed earlier this year by Mitchell on Twitter, who revealed that production for the show's eight season was about to begin back in August.

"I'm taking a few weeks off my Observer column to film a new series of Peep Show. It's nice not to have to write the jokes," Mitchell tweeted.

News that "Peep Show" would return for series 8 and 9 after its hiatus was first revealed by Robert Webb on Twitter in a series of posts.

On December 5, 2011, Webb tweeted, "And to those who ask quite often, bless you, Peep Show 7 will be filmed next Summer and will be on the telly by the fall of the leaves 2012."

Webb quickly followed up his first post with a hasty correction, tweeting, "All right, series 8 then. Who's counting? A: we at then end of series 9 (2013) we will still be 17 eps short of Desmond's 71. Oh gosh."

Rumors that Peep Show series 8 would premiere in November 2012 were sparked in September when British Comedy Guide tweeted, "Filming has completed on Series 8 of Peep Show. The new six-[art series is expected to be shown on Channel 4 from 9th November."

Peep Show follows the lives of two roommates and college friends Mark Corrigan (Mitchell) and Jeremy "Jez" Usborne (Webb). While Mark is an uptight and repressed worker bee and a big corporation, Jez is a free spirited musician with little income and no inhibitions.

According to Wikipedia, Peep Show series 8 will pick up where series 7 left off on New Years Eve as Mark is torn between his new romance with nerdy co-worker Dobby and his strained relationship with Jez, who he abandoned in series 7's final moments.

A ninth series is also confirmed, and expected to air in 2013. While you wait for the return of Peep Show, here are five classic clips from the beloved dark sitcom.
