If you're desperate for a date, thankfully, there's an app for that. Crazy Blind Date, a new app from the people at OKCupid, lets you choose a time, place and picks a person for you to mingle with.

Crazy Blind Date is one of thousands of dating apps currently on iOS and Android, but the fact that it's been created by a trusted online dating company makes it more likely to succeed than many of the others. Still, the premise of the dating app is one of the strangest we've seen in a very long time.

Crazy Blind Date picks four people for you to choose from. The only downside is that the faces of the people are scrambled. So, in reality, you're only shown a small portion of their face -- perhaps you're able to see their eyes or their hair -- but it's far from the complete picture. After you choose one the dates, you simply show up to the location at the designated time. After that, you've found yourself on a date.

As crazy as Crazy Blind Date may sound, it's not the first short-notice dating app that's hit the iOS and Android app stores. Grindr, a single gay men app, became well known for becoming a short-notice fling app. Although OKCupid helps people find dates, it's never used geo-locational data to help singles out.

"If it were a perfect world, I would charge by success," said Sam Yagan, one of the founders of OK Cupid in a now-famous Bloomberg Businessweek report. "If you could start a dating site where you just got paid for marriage or sex, that'd be pretty cool. This is the closest we can come."

If you'd like to test out the new app, you can currently download it on iOS or on Android. You can also sign in with your OKCupid account information, or, if you'd like, you can create an entirely new account specificly for blind date. Please try the app at your own risk. As you might already be aware, this app isn't for everyone.
