It could be a few more weeks before Minecraft Xbox 360 Update 12 hits Xbox Live, with 4J Studios confirming that developmental work continues on the latest Minecraft Xbox 360 title update on Friday morning, but a pair of tweets from the team responsible for the ultra-popular XBLA Minecraft port is sure to keep many fans excited in the interim.
Thankfully, though Minecraft Xbox 360 Update 12 is taking longer to arrive than many fans would like, 4J Studios hasn't exactly given Minecraft Xbox 360 players the cold shoulder during the wait. Earlier this month, the dev team released a pair of Minecraft Xbox 360 Update 12 teaser images that confirmed a plethora of changes coming in the next Minecraft Xbox 360 title update. 4J Studios has also continued to answer fan questions on the studio's official Twitter page, revealing some interesting new information in the process.
Along with all of the changes previously revealed by 4J Studios, new content collections called Mash-Up Packs will combine texture packs, skin packs, user interfaces, music, and themed worlds into a single download that's presumably meant to replicate the complete Minecraft overhauls available to those who play the Java version of the game. The 4J Studios also reconfirmed that texture pack support would be coming in Minecraft Xbox 360 Update 12, after the feature remained curiously absent from several recent developmental updates from the Minecraft Xbox 360 dev team.
Those who've been hoping for better content discovery systems in Minecraft Xbox 360 will be happy to know that 4J Studios created new Best Of/Favorites sections for Minecraft Xbox 360 Skins and Skin Packs, and similar lists will (presumably) be available for Texture Packs, Mash-Up Packs, and any/all other content coming to the game in the future. There's no word on exactly what's changed, though we suspect any improvement whatsoever will be welcomed by the Minecraft Xbox 360 community with open arms.
