Liberty Ross and Rupert Sanders tried to make their marriage work after news emerged that he had an affair with Kristen Stewart. But recent reports indicate that the model has filed for divorce from her husband of more than 10 years.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, both Sanders and Ross are seeking joint custody of their children - son Tennyson and daughter Skyla – and Ross is asking for spousal support. She also wants her husband to pay the legal fees.

Ross filed the paperwork on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday.

The couple’s marriage hit rock bottom when photographs emerged of Sanders getting cozy with his “Snow White and the Hunstsman” actress Kristen Stewart. Soon after, he issued a public apology stating, "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

But sadly, the marriage didn’t survive Sanders’ philandering ways, though Stewart managed to get back with her boyfriend Robert Pattinson.

Soon after the news of the affair broke, as a damage control measure, Stewart too issued an apology, saying she was sorry that her momentary indiscretion had hurt Pattinson.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," Stewart said in a statement. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob.

"I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
