Actress Jennifer Lawrence’s day at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards function on Sunday was almost perfect, but for a wardrobe malfunction incident that brought all eyes on her.
Rushing to collect her award for the female actor in a leading role honor, a jubilant Lawrence ripped her expensive blue Christian Dior gown, managing to show a lot more than she intended to. Luckily, the tear was just above her knee and Lawrence managed to keep her modesty intact.
As soon as Lawrence realized she was the latest victim of the wardrobe malfunction, the 22-year-old attempted prevent the dress from tearing off completely by pushing the ripped part under the gown’s existing tuck.
But once on stage, a breathless Lawrence regained her poise and thanked her co-stars and family for their support. "Now I have this naked statue that means some of you even voted for me, and that is an indescribable feeling. Thank you," Lawrence said, accepting the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
Despite the wardrobe malfunction incident, Lawrence looked stunning in the Christian Dior Haute Couture dress that she paired with diamond jewels, a clutch from Roger Vivier and Jimmy Choo shoes. Her make-up had a retro touch as she painted her lips bright red and her curls were swept to one side.
Coincidentally, Amanda Seyfried too spotted a similar look. She opted for a navy blue gown by Zac Posen that she paired with glittering diamond jewels. Interestingly, Seyfried also kept her hair in a classic side-swept style, but decided to keep her make-up subtle.
