Windows Phone 8 has a tiny slice of the mobile operating system market share, but Microsoft is adamant about changing that fact. The software giant is preparing a barrage of advertisements starring some of the most recognizable faces in the entertainment industry.

Jessica Alba, Jay-Z, Gwen Stefani, Holly Willoughby, Will Arnett, James Corden and many more will be or have already been involved in Windows Phone 8 advertising. Most of the advertisements focus on the phones capabilities including the new Live Tiles view. The celebrities have typically narrated the commercial and talked about how the phone has helped them organize their lives. The commercials have a striking similarity to Apple's celebrity iPhone commercials.

In one of the advertisements currently running, Holly Willoughby talks about her life off of the screen. Willoughby says that "Kid's Corner," one of the features of Windows Phone 8, helps her keep track of the things that her children are viewing on the phone. "That's me, and this is my Windows Phone," she says as the advertisement ends. A bright pink Nokia Lumia stands at the forefront.

Will Arnett's Windows Phone 8 advertisement is slightly more surreal, but, in essence, is the same exact idea. It's a little more goofy, and there are plenty more jokes, but ultimately, Arnett tells viewers of the advertisement that Windows Phone 8 has replaced his assistant. The Nokia Lumia 920 is also the focus of the advertisement.

Jay-Z, Gwen Stefani and James Corden will reportedly star in the next round of Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 commercials. "Since James picked up his Tony Award in America for the hit Broadway show One Man, Two Guv'nors, his agent's phone hasn't stopped ringing... Now Microsoft have just come in with big bucks to get him on board to promote their new Windows phone... He filmed an advert for them in London last week where he fiddles with his smartphone and plays with apps. He spent most of the time playing Xbox games on the new phone," said a source close to the matter according to The Sun.

The Windows Phone 8 advertisements featuring well-known celebrities have thus far focused solely on the Nokia Lumia 920. It's an interesting choice for Microsoft, considering that the company has several other partners that have created phones using the new operating system including HTC and Samsung. There is no specific release date of the Jay-Z and Gwen Stefani Windows Phone 8 commercials.
