It looks like Monday's leaked photos won't be the last time the HTC M7 finds itself making headlines before its official announcement and release date arrive later this year after all.
New reports suggest that HTC will publicly unveil the M7 during a previously scheduled press event, instead of at the Mobile World Congress as previously rumored. An Italian mobile phone and app reviewer known as Flavio claimed the exclusive, citing unidentified individuals with knowledge of the matter as his sources, and said the HTC M7 release date would probably be revealed February 19 in London, England.

It was previously rumored that the official HTC M7 release date reveal would take place during the 2013 Mobile World Congress (Feb. 25 - 28) though HTC has apparently since decided that it would be more appropriate to unveil the phone at their own press event. It's unclear at this time what may have prompted the decision, or whether the HTC M7 will still make an appearance during the Mobile World Congress.
Flavio wasn't the only reporter to land a major HTC scoop this week though. Two days prior to Flavio's revelation, the folks at Android Police claim to be in possession of the first leaked photographs of the HTC M7. There are only two shots -- one showing what appears to the Sense 5.0 home screen and the other showing the back of the alleged HTC M7 -- but they quickly spread around the web this week, even as some noted differences between the pictured device and previously released renders of the HTC M7.
The HTC M7 looks to become the company's latest flagship Android device, with previous reports suggesting that the device will ship with a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage space. HTC's next high-end phone is also expected to ship with a 5-inch 1080p display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing sensor, and a 2300mAh battery to power the barely-pocket-sized monster. The company is also reportedly hoping to ship as many as 5 million HTC M7s during the first quarter of 2013.
