2012 has been a rather eventul year for everyone all over the world and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) to end 2012 with a bang. A very very very loud bang.
The annual Hong Kong New Year Countdown Celebrations beautiful fireworks show is in the event's sixth-year. For 2013, Hong Kong kicked its pyrotechnic spectacle up a notch with the very first dual firework launch pad from land and sea in the city's history. The show was synchronized with a light show to create a stunning "pyrotechnic musical" that excited the city and highlighted Hong Kong's iconic skyline. In all, the 8-minute fireworks display cost nearly 12.5 million Hong Kong dollars.
The show was held in Hong Kong's gorgeous Wan Chai district. Not only did hundreds of thousands of happy partygoers gather for the show, the epic celebration was aired via satellite feed all over the world when the clock striked midnight.
