Rapper Danny Brown received surprise oral sex on tour at one of his concerts recently. Kendrick Lamar tweeted at the rapper upon hearing what had happened, questioning the sex act.
In light of the events at the Minneapolis concert, opening act Kitty Pryde has expressed her disgust with the events that transpired. Even though the picture of Brown seemed to suggest he was enjoying the act, Pryde took issue with it, deeming the act sexual assault. Many shrug off rape when a female is forcing herself on a male, but Pryde addresses this in her post,
"What is Danny supposed to do? The girl was at mouth-to-d*** level already and to push her away, he would've had to either pushed her face or kicked her, and even the most gentle of either motion would immediately be labeled "abuse" by anyone watching. Guys pushing girls is not a good look when people are taking photos. So what was Danny supposed to do, other than back away, which he did? And if he had figured out a way to gently push the girl off him immediately without looking like he was smacking her in the face, he's faced with attacks on his masculinity by every douchebro in the building. Yo dude, you don't want your d*** sucked, bro? Are you gay? Haha you're gay you don't want girls to suck your d*** haha gay dude bro man swag! And that's a rapper's literal nightmare"
Pryde certainly brings up a good point, reflecting on our culture and how we respond to sexual assault against males. One report said Brown was egging the audience on, doing suggestive things to initiate the oral sex. According to Pryde, Brown wasn't doing anything of the sort. Whether Danny Brown enjoyed the act or felt offended by it, we'll never know. Though we can all agree going on stage randomly and blowing some guy isn't the classiest thing to do.
Though then again, maybe he actually did want it. Danny Brown always has been a headbanger.
