New Emojis Coming In July! 250 Emoticons Will Have Texters Live Long And Prosper While Flipping The Bird
Texters rejoice! New emojis are coming to your mobile keyboard in less than a month. According to the official blog post of the Unicode Consortium, 250 new emojis will be available to everyone in July. So instead of praying autocorrect doesn't send 'Duck You!' to your worst enemy you'll be able to use, perhaps the frontrunner for most popular of the 250 new emojis, the 'reverse hand with middle finger extended.'
Simple enough. Because let's be honest, throwing poo at each other was fun at first but flipping the bird will never get old. Some other examples of the 250 new emojis include new currency symbols, 23 historic scripts and the widely-used emoji character lineup. And if you are worried the new emojis won't work on your Android or iPhone, The Unicode Standard allows for cohesive implementation of text characters across various software, including iOS and Android. There's even a way to get iOS emojis on your Android.
The picture provided in their blog shows 9 of the 250 new emojis. From the looks of it, there will be a 'Chipmunk,' 'Dove,' 'Chili Pepper,' 'Dinner Plate and Utensils,' 'Cautious Road,' Tornado,' 'Thermometer,' 'Tools', and the 'Vulcan' symbol from 'Star Trek.'
A more comprehensive list of the 250 new emojis can be found at Emojipedia, which spotlights some new characters like the aforementioned 'Reversed Hand With Middle Finger Extended,' 'Building Construction' and 'Man in Business Suit Levitating,' according to AppleInsider.
Time magazine picked the 10 "most useful" new emojis on their site which includes: 'Rolled Up Newspaper,' 'Spider Web,' an 'Oil Drum' and more.
However, we at iDigital Times hope to see one of the 250 new emoji be the Luigi Death Stare from Mario Kart 8 or Doge. So if anyone from the Unicode Consortium is reading this, you're welcome.
An exact date for the rollout of the 250 new emojis is yet unknown but July is approaching quickly so hold onto your texting fingers and we will update this story when a date is announced. In the meantime, let us know which emoji you want to see in the comments section below.
