Warning Major Spoilers For Sons Of Anarchy Season 7 And Season 6 Including Shocking Death
The "Sons of Anarchy "season 7 premiere date won't be until the fall of 2014, likely around September or October if history is any precedent. When the series returns to FX it will pick up from what has easily been one of the most dramatic finales we've seen in the long time. In "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 spoilers Jax is looking at the possibility of a life sentence in prison for murder, but not for what he planned. In the "Sons of Anarchy" season 6 finale we saw a dramatic scene where Jax decides that he is going to turn himself in in order to spare Tara and have her raise the kids away from the club. Things don't' go according to plan and they result in the shocking death of a major character.
Warning: Major Spoilers ahead, don't go beyond this point if you haven't seen the "Sons of Anarchy" season 6 finale yet don't read ahead
When the "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 premiere date rolls around we will see Jax get charged for murder. However, it will be for Tara's murder. In the "Sons of Anarchy" season finale, ironically named "A Mother's Love" we saw Gemma murder Tara, brutally stabbing her through the back of the neck because she believed that Tara had ratted on Jax and gotten him sent to prison for life. She didn't known that Jax had voluntarily turned himself and thought Tara was responsible. The moment she saw Tara enter the house she was stunned and then she viciously attacked and killed Tara. Sheriff Roosevelt was also there and he was about to call in support before he was shot to death by Juice who helped cover up for Gemma by hiding the murder tools and leaving the body for Jax to deal with.
Unfortunately when the "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 premiere date rolls around it looks like Jax will see the inside of a jail cell, because he comes home to find Tara murdered and Roosevelt lying dead shot. He takes his gun out but drops it in shot right at Roosevelt's feet. That's how DA Patterson finds him, holding a murdered Tara and weeping while the gun lies at the feet of a dead Sherriff Roosevelt. Patterson looks at the scene and it is clear that she can tell from the darker congealed blood that this happened some time ago and it clearly wasn't done by Jax who just walked in. The problem is that Jax's prints are on the gun, he is at the scene of the crime and he has motive for killing Tara implicating him for a potential murder charge in "Sons of Anarchy" season 7. Juice has gone and disposed of the evidence that could exonerate Jax, namely the murder tool which has Gemma's prints on it, so it looks like Jax has disposed of the evidence. Kurt Sutter explained to Entertainment how the whole scene went down:
"I knew I wanted it to be sort of simple and pedestrian and of Gemma's world - not of the club's world, meaning I knew I didn't want it to be a gun or a knife," Sutter explained of Tara's death by carving fork in the family kitchen. "We see Gemma in that opening montage washing dishes and we have no idea that something as simple of a tub of dirty dish water and a carving fork would ultimately be used as implements of death." Sutter said it was also important to root the moment in Gemma's tendency to react first and ask questions later. "There was a moment where Katey looks back at that fork...and it's almost a moment of like, 'Oh, where did that come from?' and of not being aware of what she was doing."
When the "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 premiere date returns it looks like DA Patterson will be a major figure. To a large extent Jax's fate in "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 rests with her. While the evidence isn't going to add up perfectly, like the fact that Jax's gun hasn't been fired, there's no gunpowder residue on his hands and the bodies are cold and the blood congealed, there is enough to pin Jax with some degree of culpability. Patterson has also shown herself to be perfectly comfortable to twisting evidence to suit her needs, even if the evidence seemingly exonerates her. For instance she continued to pressure Nero after knowing perfectly well that it was Lee Toric who murdered the hooker and not Nero. She was also comfortable with the idea of lettings the Sons of Anarchy get off scot free in exchange for the Irish Kings and Galen, despite the Sons have a large degree of responsibility for the school shooting. DA Patterson will have no problem for twisting the substantial evidence and crucifying Jax in "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 as the murderer even if she knows otherwise.
When the "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 premiere date comes around the character that has fallen the most will be Gemma. After basically being dumped by Nero and watching Clay die she has killed Tara. If and when Jax find out, he will never forgive her. There's no chance of it and it seems fairly likely that Gemma might die in season 7, though perhaps not at the hand of Jax, "Things get tricky here because Tara was brutally bludgeoned, drowned and stabbed to death by none other than Jax's mother Gemma. If anyone else killed Jax's wife then the answer would be pretty simple: Jax would kill them. However is he really going to kill his mother? That sounds totally grotesque, but only time will tell." Jax is in a difficult positon when he comes to it, the only way for him to exonerate himself is if Gemma and/or Juice come clean and turn themselves in. Juice is already out of favor with Jax and he knows it. Gemma may be willing to sacrifice herself for her son, she's done it before and she may do it again. If Jax gets arrested for Tara's murder and it looks like he's going to go to jail then Gemma will likely come forward. It's worth pointing out that in "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 there is going to be a specific arc for Jax, "I have this arc in mind for Jax in the final season of the show ... Tara was Jax's true north, his moral compass. What happens when that is removed? That is what I want to see in this final season, Jax without that rudder."
By the time of the "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 premiere data the Sons of Anarchy won't just have Jax's personal turmoil to deal with, they will be embroiled in a full scale war as Alvarez and Nero form an alliance with the Chinese mafia to take down August Marks and the Sons of Anarchy. That's a lot of power arrayed against them and while August Marks is a powerful figure he may find himself tested by the forces arrayed against him while the Sons of Anarchy is still in disarray particular given Jax's likely arrest in season 7. In other news in addition to the possibility of a "Sons of Anarchy" prequel Kurt Sutter has also gotten a pilot for his new show, "The Bastard Executioner".
