Update 3/27/2014: George R.R. Martin has posted a new chapter  for a character called Mercy, after taking down the Arianna chapter that was up before. You can read about it HERE.

George R.R. Martin has released several "Winds of Winter" preview chapters for several major POV characters including Tyrion Lannister, Ser Barristan the Bold, Victarion Greyjoy and Arianna Martell. Some of the "Winds of Winter" preview chapters can be found online while others can be found in the recently released paperback editions of "Dance of Dragons". The "Winds of Winter" characters that have been confirmed to have POV chapters include Sansa Stark (a controversial chapter), Arya Stark, Arianne Martell, Aeron Greyjoy, Vicatrion Greyjoy, Tyrion Lannister and Barristan Selmy. George R.R. Martin also read the first two chapters of "Winds of Winter," which contained POV chapters for Victarion and Tyrion. Only a handful of the major plot points have been dealt with in the first few "Winds of Winter" preview chapters.

George R.R. Martin published two "Winds of Winter" preview chapters online. One of the first was a chapter for Theon Greyjoy, who is currently with the army of Stannis Baratheon. That Theon chapter can be read in its entirety (HERE). Theon is counseling Stannis about his wisdom in engaging Bolton and Frey forces. Stannis also tells Asha that he won't spare her brothers life and she asks him to take his life with his own hands. The other "Winds of Winter" preview chapter has Arianne Martell as the POV chapter (and can be read HERE). Arianne is traveling with several companions after reciveing a message from Jon Connington in Griffin's Roost. It seems very likely that Dorne is preparing to rise. On his "Not a Blog" livejournal, George R.R. Martin posted an explanation of why he included Arianne Martell as a POV character after at first not intending to have her in the book:

Arianne wasn't originally supposed to have any viewpoint chapters in DANCE at all, but there's this... hmmm, how vague do I want be? VERY vague, I think... there's this event that would of necessity provoke a Dornish reaction. The event was originally going to occur near the end of the book, but in one of my forty-seven restructures I moved it to the late middle instead. And the timeline then required that the Dornish reaction happen in this book and not the next one, so I wrote the two Arianne chapters and was going to write a third... and a chapter from another POV that would be a necessary complement to them, and...

The Barristan I and Barristan II "Winds of Winter" preview chapters depict the Battle of Meereen (which we covered in our article HERE). According to "A Forum of Ice and Fire", the "Winds of Winter" Ser Barristan chapters appear to show the victory of Meereen's forces against the slavers just as Victarion joins them by sailing into Slaver's Bay. A summary of the two Ser Barristan chapters can be found HERE, (and a more through breakdown of the Ser Barristan chapters can be found HERE). Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's permitted for the entire chapter to be posted online because it was found in the "Dance of Dragons" paperback edition. Fortunately the notes found in the forum are very detailed and should give a good overview of what happened in the Battle of Meereen. The Battle of Meeren and the Battle of Winterfell between the forces of Stannis and the Boltons and Freys are the two major battles that George R.R. Martin will be dealing with in the beginning of the book. A summary of the Barristan chapters can be found on Reddit:

Ser Barristan 1:
This chapter was mostly a discussion of battle plans, in the battle between Meereen and Yunkai. Barristan was on Dany's silver mare, preparing for battle. He talked about what the different groups were going to do. Barristan then gave a pep talk to the boys he had trained to be knights who were about to fight in their first fight. He talked about how everyone fears and that is normal. It was a nice pep talk, and very well-written. I'm sorry I don't have it memorized. The chapter ended with the line "May the warrior protect us all. Sound the attack!"
Ser Barristan 2:
This was about the battle. One highlight was the description of the pit fighters coming out to fight, in ridiculous armor, totally unprepared for real battle. (One of them, a woman, was nearly naked, dressed in a snake.) It also described the herons (the Yunkish slaves on stilts) fighting and not doing very well. Then suddenly lots of ships arrived. Someone noticed there were "squids" on the ships. Barristan recognized that that meant Ironmen. Someone saw that they were fighting against the Yunkai. Barristan didn't know which Ironmen were on the ships and he first thought Balon, then remembered that he heard he died, and wondered if it could have something to do with his son who was living with the Starks.

The Tyrion chapter of "Winds of Winter" similarly cannot be posted online but detailed notes about the chapter can be found here. The Tyrion chapter also depicts Tyrion in the Battle of Meereen, he despairs because he believes the battle is lost until dragons arrive and help turn the tide. Tyrion at the moment is with Second Sons and Jorah Mormont, as he had previously joined the company after being freed from slavery. The "Winds of Winter" preview chapter for Victarion Greyjoy can be found here. The transcript shows Victarion and Moqorro preparing to blow the horn to enslave the dragons as they sail into Slaver's Bay. He tells his men, "The mute sounded the horn three times. You three will sound it only once. Might be you'll die, might be you won't. All men die. The Iron Fleet is sailing into battle. Many on this very ship will be dead before the sun goes down - stabbed or slashed, gutted, drowned, burned alive - only the Gods know which of us will still be here come the morrow. Sound the horn and live and I'll make free men of you, one or two or all three. I'll give you wives, a bit of land, a ship to sail, thralls of your own. Men will know your names." The preview chapters are all extremely enticing and show that the beginning of "Winds of Winter" will be action packed. At this point, the release date of "Winds of Winter" still isn't known, but we are looking forward to it.
