Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Release Date News: Bioware Devs Pushing Next Gen Tech To ‘Breaking Point’ [REPORT]
The latest Dragon Age 3: Inquisition release date news is promising for fans hoping that BioWare will be pushing the envelope for its next-gen RPG project. According to a report on Gameranx, BioWare's devs said that the Dragon Age 3: inquisition release date will give fans a game that takes advantage of everything the various platforms have to offer. (Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.)
"I think with Dragon Age, we're pushing all five platforms as far as we can. Just right to the edge of their breaking point," the developers said. "There are things we're seeing in Dragon Age in terms of what you can do as a character, moving around in the environment, and this incredible level of interactivity. We're working on Frostbite, we're all sharing technology, and building something really special together."
It's interesting that the Dragon Age 3: Inquisition release date will put the title on both the current and next gen platforms. It seems like it would be impossible to design a game that would deliver a worthwhile experience on both. If it uses everything the PS3 has, how can the same game max out the Ps4? I understand that there could be an increase in graphics, but what about gameplay? We'll hopefully learn more in next month's Game Informer, which is featuring Dragon Age 3: inquisition as the cover story.
In the meantime, there is good news for fans who are heavily invested in their other Dragon Age characters. Your previous saves will be part of the new game and you can access them regardless of what platform you use, at least that's what producer Cameron Lee told the crowd at PAX Australia last month.
"We know what we want to do," he said. "It will absolutely come across - your decisions carry [and] will matter."
The concept of cross-platform saves was discussed further by BioWare writer Patrick Weekes, who felt that allowing players to experience the consequences of their decisions no matter which platform they use is the a major focus for BioWare devs.
"The goal," said Weekes, "is that you can have an equally rich experience no matter which platform you're playing on."
That experience could even include Oculus Rift support after a report emerged that the frostbite 3.0 engine could be compatible with the VR helmet. Obviously nothing official has been announced, and Oculus Rift doesn't have any kind of retail launch date, but the possibility of a totally immersive Dragon Age 3: inquisition release date experience is certainly promising.
Also, we're still waiting on an official Dragon Age 3: Inquisition release date; however, it's expected to launch in Fall 2014. It even has a trailer:
