Kingdom Hearts 3 Game Play Details Continue To Emerge In Painfully Slow Fashion
While Square Enix isn't quite ready to reveal much about Kingdom Hearts 3 just yet, a handful of media appearances and interviews from game director Tetsuya Nomura continue to reveal new information about Kingdom Hearts 3 game play as fans continue the long wait for the next numerical entry in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
It's been more than two weeks since the first Kingdom Hearts 3 teaser trailer made its debut, during the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, but a handful of new Kingdom Hearts 3 game play details have emerged since it was first confirmed Sora & Co. are headed to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Outside of confirmation that combat in Kingdom Hearts 3 will be much similar to that of the previous numerical entries in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, relatively little is known about the fan-favorite series which meshes popular Square Enix and Disney franchises. A few recently translated Famitsu scans also teased the possibility of Sora, Riku and Kairi fighting alongside one another in Kingdom Hearts 3, but that's almost the extent of our knowledge about Kingdom Hearts 3 game play at this time.
Unfortunately, it might be quite some time before the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date brings the next entry in the Kingdom Hearts franchise to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or at least that's our read of the situation after Nomura told popular Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that he believed Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts 3 too soon.
"I believe that many fans were feeling impatient due to our continuous releases of spin-off titles, so we decided to announce it at the same time as Final Fantasy XV," Nomura told Famitsu, according to Silicon Era, adding, "However...I think we may have announced it a little too early."
As it turns out, the Kingdom hearts 3 dev team hasn't even finished deciding which worlds will be included in the final game, though Nomura has said that the team is only looking to include worlds that play a role in the game's story. Fortunately, the Kingdom Hearts 3 director is hopeful that he'll have more information to share during this year's Tokyo Game Show and/or the D23 Expo.
