Samsung Premiere 2013 London: 7 Products That Might Be Announced [RUMORS]
Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Tab Update, Galaxy NX Camera And Ativ Devices
Samsung Premiere 2013 is set to introduce a whole range of new products today in London. Watch the live stream HERE.
There haven't been too many leaks or hints about what Samsung might announce, but here are the things we can be reasonably certain of:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
The Galaxy Note 3 is sure to get a shout out and is easily the most anticipated product among all the rest. We've had quite a few leaks that have revealed a lot about the device; the Galaxy Note 3 boasts specs that outstrip the standard versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4. It's incredibly fast with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM.
"The Note III will also reportedly include a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm, LTE, 802.11ac W-Fi and a 5.99-inch 1080p display running Android 4.2.2/4.3." quoting inside sources at Sam Mobile as claiming the Note III will be "the most powerful in the world with a octa-core processor, eight-core GPU, 3GB of RAM, 5.99-inch Full HD display and a 13MP rear camera."
The Note 3 also compares favorably against rival phablets like the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and upcoming Apple phablets.
Samasung Galaxy Tab 3, Two Versions
You can basically expect two versions of a new Galaxy Tab:
"IB Times speculates on two versions of the Galaxy Tab 3 - the 8-inch and 10.1-inch variants. According to the report, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will cost $329.99 and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will cost $379.99, the new Zoom and an ATIV laptop."
Samsung Galaxy S4 Variants
There has been a flood of Samsung variants recently. The Galaxy S4 "Google Edition" announced during Google I/O with a stock Android UI; the Zoom, a camera focused variant at the cost of other specs; the Active a heavy duty version intended for rough use with greater protection; the Mini, a cheaper, smaller low-spec version; the Advanced, a really fast 4G LTE that can only operate in South Korea because the US lacks the infrastructure for it; and finally the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S4 Snapdragon 800 with a blazingly fast processor.
Then there are all the color variations of the Galaxy S4 that Samsung is rolling out. Samsung is sure to talk about some or all of these variants and justify the strategy in diversifying the Galaxy S4 line so much.
Samsung Ativ Smartphone, Tab, Smart PC
This is a Galaxy and ATIV event, so we can expect at least some Windows devices, though they've been fairly neglected in press releases. The Ativ S smartphone, described as a "Galaxy S3 running Windows Phone 8 instead of Android" was released before, so we will likely see an update to that so it becomes a Galaxy S4 running a Windows Phone 8.
Other prospects are updates to the Ativ Tab, Ativ ultrabook and Ativ Smart PC, which could gain removable keyboard docks and screens to compete in the same hybrid market as the Asus Transformer Pad.
Samsung Galaxy Ace 3
This is a budget smartphone, mid-range. It's nothing special, even worse than the Galaxy S4 Mini we derided so much:
"The smartphone comes with mediocre hardware, including a 1GHz dual-core processor for the 3G model and 1.2 GHz dual-core processor on the LTE version. Both versions of the device come with a 4-inch 480 x 800 LCD display. In terms of power, the Galaxy Ace 3 is slightly weaker than the Galaxy S4 Mini that premiered earlier this year."
Samsung Galaxy Player:
Some have speculated about a Samsung releasing a Galaxy Player intended to take on the iPod for a slice of the music market. We don't think that's particularly likely, it's just not a place that Samsung works well in.
Samsung Galaxy NX Camera:
This is an Android camera and leaks show that it's top of the line:
Just like the Galaxy Camera, the Galaxy NX will do away with a whole ton of physical buttons and the entire back of the camera is fitted with a 4.3-inch touch screen display. But don't let that fool you, as Samsung still have opted for the standard physical buttons (shutter, poiwer button, swivel wheel for example) that everyone has come to know and love. Furthermore, the NX will run Android 4.2 and come with a 20.3 Megapixel APS-C sensor within it. For the full range of what we know about the specs of this device, check out the table below.
It's interesting that Samsung would release this while also rolling out the Zoom for the S4. This is much higher end than the old Galaxy camera. Samsung is certainely branching out.
