Kanye West's sixth solo album, "Yeezus," is due June 18. In light of the upcoming release date of Kanye West's new album, "Yeezus" leaks have been popping up online. Yeezy performed a version of the record Monday night at Milk Studios in New York City.

"I wanna explain something about the title 'Yeezus,'" Kanye West said, according to UPI. "Simply put West was my slave name and 'Yeezus' is my god name."

MTV reports on the sound, the lyrics and the overall takeaway of West's Monday night performance in New York City. MTV notes that Kanye West's new album "Yeezus" lyrics overlap with former album themes, including drugs, dangers of fortune and the countless people conspiring against him (which is also consistent with his recent rants). In terms of the music, however, MTV seemed more stimulated:

"To me, Yeezus recalls the pummeling rush of groups like Death Grips, all gut-hammering electronic low end, guttural yelps, machine-gun drums and stabbing synths. And reverb. Reverb for days, which is why the concrete played such a pivotal role. Acoustics be damned, this one was gonna rock."

Kanye West leaked a 31-second clip via his website on Wednesday of his recording "I Am A God" off of his "Yeezus" album, which features a cameo by Rick Rubin. Watch the "Yeezy" leaked clip below:

Music Mix reports that the upcoming "Yeezus" album will feature appearances by Daft Punk, Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, Chief Keef, and, via sample, Billie Holiday. Rolling Stone also notes the "Yeezus" album will feature Hudson Mohawke, RZA, King Louie, Travis Scott and Charlie Wilson. Pop Crush unveils a reported track listing leak off his "Yeezus" album, out next Tuesday. Check out the reported "Yeezus" track listing below:

1. 'On Sight'

2. 'Black Skinhead'

3. 'I Am a God, 'Featuring God

4. 'New Slaves'

5. 'Hold My Liquor' Feat. Chief Keef

6. 'I'm In It'

7. 'Blood on the Leaves'

8. 'Guilt Trip'

9. 'Send It Up'

10. 'Bound 2′

Not only are people buzzing about "Yeezus" leaks, but the unreleased album is already speculated to hit high numbers in sales. Billboard reports that Kanye West's album, due out on June 18, may sell 500,000 copies in its first week. This number was based off of early orders from retailers, first-week performance of comparable albums, media exposure, radio, YouTube trends and so on.

Kanye West has incorporated guerrilla tactics to generate buzz for his upcoming "Yeezus" album, projecting his new music video onto buildings in 66 cities around the world and hosting listening parties in New York City. West didn't aim any "Yeezus" singles towards radio airplay.

J. Cole's "Born Sinner" album and Mac Miller's "Watching Movies with the Sound Off" are also scheduled to release on the same day as "Yeezus."

The overall takeaway from the Kanye West performance at Milk Studios Monday night from MTV reporter Rob Markman is stated as follows:

"Without a doubt Yeezus is the greatest album I've ever heard in a loading dock with Jay-Z and Beyoncé in attendance. Credit Kanye with creating a unique, one-of-a-kind experience. I can't wait until June 18."
