[UPDATE] Vine For Android: Download The Twitter Owned Video Service Today
Vine for Android is available to download today in the Google Play store, Twitter announced on its blog. Now users of the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One or other Android phones can play director to 6 second movies just like their iPhone wielding friends. Similar to Facebook owned app Instagram, Vine was exclusive to iOS until today. Though unlike iOS, Vine for Android will have the option of zooming while shooting video. Though we imagine this feature isn't far off on the Apple side of things. When the download for Vine on Android eventually goes up, you can find it here on the Google Play store. (UPDATE: it's available!)
Vine initially garnered attention for its innovative method of recording. With the ability to edit during video capture, users with even little shooting experience could come up with some cool 6 second clips. Vine's parent company Twitter announced the Android version of their app via blog post on their site:
"Android owners: Welcome to Vine. Starting today, you can begin to shoot, share and watch short looping videos. We've been looking forward to this day, and we're excited to get the app into your hands.
Vine for Android has many of the features that more than 13 million people have grown to love: easy video creation with automatic playback and sound; Explore, where you can discover popular posts and see what's trending; and Find Friends, where you can find and invite people you know to join. You can also share your posts to Twitter -- people will be able to watch them right within your Tweet."
Are you excited to use Vine for Android now that it's out? Leave a 6 second reply in the comments!
