The Borderlands 2 DLC for Krieg, the new melee-based character joining the Vault Hunter stable, has received a release date from Gearbox: May 14. Krieg the Psycho Bandit is everything a melee fan would want from a Vault Hunter. His action skill, called Buzz Axe Rampage, deals 500 percent melee damage and regains all of Krieg's health after a kill. This means you get to do a lot of hacking and slashing around Pandora without any of the pesky damage getting in the way.

As the following Borderlands 2 gameplay footage shows, Krieg also provides some cathartic revenge against those blitzing kamikaze Psychos that love to self-destruct near your Vault Hunter.

Although the Borderlands 2 Krieg DLC release date has been set, fans who purchased the Season Pass for Borderlands 2 won't get free access to the character. Instead, anyone who wants to play as Krieg will have to pony up $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points to buy the Psycho Pack, which will be available on whatever it is you're playing Borderlands 2 on.

The good news is that Season Pass holders won't have to wait long for the next Borderlands 2 DLC release date. Borderlands 2's fourth DLC, Tiny Tina's Assault On Dragon Keep, is set for release on June 25. As a teaser trailer foreshadowed during PAX East, the premise of the DLC will be that Tiny Tina is hosting a Dungeons & Dragons-like tabletop game.

If you remember your Borderlands 2 characters correctly, you know that Tiny Tina is the marginally psychotic 13-year-old demolitions expert who is fond of Ebonics, bunnies and vengeance.

The premise of the DLC will be that Tiny Tina has a crazy-ass dungeon drawn up, you get transported into it and have to shoot-n-loot your way through whatever kind of mayhem Tiny Tina can dream up. And, if you know Tiny Tina, you know that her sadistic sensibilities simultaneously make her the best/worst sort of dungeon master.

Tiny Tina's Assault On Dragon Keep will be free for Season Pass holders, but regular folks need to spend $9.99 (again, 800 stupid Microsoft points) to get it on June 25.
