Chris Pine Split: 'Stark Trek Into Darkness' Actor Dumps Bikini Model Dominique Piek [VIDEO]
Chris Pine split up with his girlfriend Dominique Piek. The actor, who's best known for playing the role Captain Kirk in "Star Trek," ended his relationship with Dominique Piek after dating the model for more than one year.
Chris Pine's split from Dominique Piek was first reported by E! News. The celebrity news websites reports that "[Chris Pine and Dominique Piek] have split, but it was mutual."
Chris Pine and Dominique Piek made their relationship public about one year ago, when the two showed up on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival. Although the couple decided that, after dating for several months, it was best to make their relationship public, the two never let fans into their love life very much. The couple has made very few public outings, and they both frequently dodged questions about their love life.
It's still unclear exactly why Chris Pines split up with Dominique Piek. The "Star Trek" actor gave fans a little bit of insight into the type of girl he prefers in a recent interview with Men's Health UK. "I do like dating cynics-they tend to be incredibly funny," he said. "Dating someone on the opposite end of the happy spectrum teaches you an incredible amount of patience."
Chris Pine is set to star in "Star Trek Into Darkness" later this month. The movie is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on May 17, but it's already receiving great reviews from those that have seen it. "Mostly, this is fantastic fun: a two-hours-plus blockbuster that doesn't bog down in exposition or sag in the middle. There are reversals and rug-pulls galore, most of them executed with whiplash skill. Trouble is, at a certain point peril-fatigue starts to creep in, putting the story (like the overtaxed Enterprise) at the risk of burning out," wrote Matthew Leyland of Total Film.
