The 2014 awards season calendar was affected by the upcoming Winter Olympics, which will be held from Feb 7 to Feb 23 in Sochi, Russia.

The organizers of the various awards functions had to organize their dates according to the Winter Olympics and the organizers of the Golden Globes managed to snag up the last available weekend in January, 2014.

The date of the 86th Annual Academy Awards, which is usually held in last week of February, had to be pushed to Sunday, March 2, 2014 thanks to the Sochi Olympics.

The annual guild awards association has also shifted their dates to accommodate the 2014 Winter Olympics. According to the Associated Press, the Screen Actors Guild Awards will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 and The Producers Guild of America's award ceremony will be held Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014.

The Directors Guild will present the mementos Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.

The 70th Annual Golden Globes ceremony was hosted by comedic duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Will they host for a consecutive second time or will the Golden Globe organizers look for another duo or individual to host the annual awards function?
