Before you watch the live stream of "The Voice," here is a preview of Monday night's episode.
As MTV.com notes, both Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, each of whom served as coaches on the singing competition for the first three seasons, left the show to further their music careers. In their places are Shakira and Usher, who will look to take down two-time champion Blake Shelton. In fact, Shelton told TheBoot.com that the new coaches are already using that fact against him during the blind auditions.
"That was one of the things that was mentioned by Shakira and Usher during the blind audition," he said. "We'd all be fighting over one particular artist where it would be like, 'Well, you could go with Blake but you know that he'll never win three times in a row, people are tired of him!'"
Indeed, reports indicate that Shakira is no pushover during "The Voice" auditions. As US Weekly notes, previews show the singer telling her fellow judges not to take her lightly.'
"Never underestimate a 5-foot-3 Colombian girl!" she said in the promo.
At least one website thinks that both Shakira and Usher fit right in on "The Voice" coaches' panel.
"Usher displayed the right amount of confidence ... but also showed an amusing amount of humility -- especially when he's called out for referring to Nashville as a 'state,'" wrote EW.com's Lynette Rice. "Shakira, meanwhile, is less like a diva and more of a delight -- her precious accent making her all the more winsome, especially when she starts to talk trash by calling Levine's season one win 'beginner's luck.'"
Still, "The Voice" would be nothing without strong contestants, and early previews indicate several early contenders. Per Entertainment Weekly, a man named Christian Porter impresses the judges by turning the rap hit "Sexy and I Know It" into a smooth ballad. Three of the four coaches turn around for Porter, though it is unclear exactly which one he picks.
Another contender to watch out for is Judith Hill. Per mjsbigblog, the songstress covers Aguilera's hit "What A Girl Wants" and get all four judges to turn around for her. Adam Levine even opines that Hill sings the song better than the former coach.
