"Spring Breakers" sex scenes with Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, and James Franco may be filling seats in theaters to see the R rated film by Harmony Korine, but the film is gaining a fair amount of criticism for its note-safe-for-work (NSFW) content.

"Spring Breakers" sex scenes are a hot topic on Twitter, when online users can't stop talking about the racy parts of the movie with Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens.

"I'd say it's 50/50 whether or not I'll be keeping this babysitting job after bringing the kids to see Spring Breakers," tweeted @jenstatsky, referencing the movie's sex scenes, violence and drug use.

"Dear Selena Gomez, does mother always know best? Especially in this instance?" tweeted the official @gossipgirl account.

"Just watched the Spring Breakers trailer and it actually looks ridiculous..." tweeted Sean O'Donnell.

"All I can do is lie in bed thinking about spring breakers," tweeted Sam Biddle.

"I just saw the trailer to Spring Breakers and Selena's looking kinda sleazy," tweeted @asap_chelly, criticizing the film's sex scenes.

"Spring Breakers looks really dumb but I want to see it," tweeted @samantha7connor, hinting at the NSFW sex scenes.

"I know nothing about Spring Breakers, don't know the actors, don't know the plot, the reviews, and yet, somehow, I know everything about it," wrote @andevers, referencing the infamous Disney girl sex scenes.

"No matter what , im watching spring breakers (: idgaf if it rated r ? ill just sneak in," tweeted @NathalieBitxch.

"I just want to see spring breakers. So many babes," tweeted Jacalyn Padilla, confirming that the NSFW sex scenes are the movie's biggest draw.

"I wanna go watch Spring Breakers, they're all so hot omg," tweeted @_LeslieeAnn, not-so-subtly hinting at the sex scenes.

"I hope no one waste their money on the movie spring breakers!! It looks so trash!! Save your money people," tweeted Tatiana Booth, decrying the sex scenes.

"I heard Spring Breakers is trashy and a waste of time & money. Why did this not surprise me?" tweeted @SFMidnightxx.

"It's so weird seeing Selena Gomez on Disney now after seeing what she's gonna be like in Spring Breakers," tweeted @xoitscassyxo, noting just how shocking the film's sex scenes are to Disney Channel fans.

"Don't forget to go see @springbreakers it's too good like finger looking good," joked @MikeSanchie.

The "Spring Breakers" sex scene debate keeps going on Twitter, with hundreds of new tweets. Meanwhile, the media is having it's own debate over the NSFW movie starring Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, James Franco and rapper Gucci Mane. A recent article from the Boston Herald touches on the controversy.

"Selena Gomez peels off her Disney girl persona, and most of her clothes, in this week's R-rated 'Spring Breakers,'" writes Stephen Schaefer, "but considers the buzz over her hard-partying bikini-babe role a positive."

But does Selena Gomez "shed her image" for the "Spring Breakers" sex scenes? The Disney starlet disagrees.

"It's not trashing or shedding an image," said Selena Gomez of the "Spring Breakers" sex scenes. "I'm super passionate about what I do and to have the opportunity to work with Harmony Korine."

Before signing on to shoot the "Spring Breakers" sex scenes, Selena Gomez says the film's avant garde writer-director asked her if she was was "ready to leave your lifestyle a bit ad come on this journey."

"That's exciting and I didn't know what I was getting myself into but it was more liberating than frightening," Selena Gomez told ABC, reveling in the "Spring Breakers" sex scenes.

The New York Times' glowing review by Manola Dargis also touches on the controversial "Spring Breakers" sex scenes.

"The beer doesn't flow, it floods: over heads, writhing torsos and the bared breasts that wiggle like puppies and wag at the camera like the middle fingers that more and more revelers raise," writes Dargis of the opening scene to "Spring Breakers."

Later in the review, Dargis attempts to explain what drew the Disney Channel stars to agree to star in "Spring Breakers" despite the racy sex scenes:

Mr. Korine clearly digs frolicking with his visiting celebrities, and the actresses seem happy to do things that would make Uncle Walt spin in his grave. They're almost giddy, at least at first, and given that both Ms. Gomez and Ms. Hudgens have put in time working for Disney it's no wonder that they cut loose. In "Spring Breakers" they have the chance to simulate the behavior that feeds the tabloids without the humiliations and career-crushing price paid by the likes of Lindsay Lohan.

Makes sense, but does it excuse the R rated content of a film starring actresses best known for the PG resumes? What do you think of the "Spring Breakers" sex scenes? Too NSFW or just racy enough? Share your thoughts in the comments.
