Best iOS 6 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks 2013: 5 Cool New Tweaks Arrive This Weekend for iPhone 5, 4S and other Jailbroken iDevices
CYDIA TWEAKS AND THEMES 2013
The Cydia tweak/theme store was busy this weekend as we saw numerous iOS 6 jailbreak themes and updated and uploaded to the jailbreak app store, while new never seen before tweaks were added to the arsenal as well.
If you're curious about what Cydia has new to offer for your iOS 6 device jailbroken courtesy of Evasi0n, then check out the five latest listed below, all arriving on Sunday in the Cydia Tweak store.
Okay, so this is a simple but kind of cool tweak by @thekirbylover and even cooler is that it is completely free and requires no setup or configuration past installation. So what does it do? Well basically, TypeStatus is just that. It gives you a nice unobtrusive indication when someone is typing a text message to you -- similar to the bubbles you see within the iMessage app itself. Instead of having to be inside the app however, the bubbles appear in the status bar of your iOS 6 jailbroken device. This way, anywhere you are in the phone, you can see when a text message is about to come through. It's kind of an interesting concept and was inspired by an idea from iDownloadBlog's Jeff Benjam. The Cydia tweak is by developer HASHBANG productions (@hbangws on twitter) and is one I would suggest trying for those who like to stay "in the know."
This is another super simple tweak to arrive in Cydia's tweak store this weekend, fully optimized for iOS 6. This tweak requires no setup beyond installation and allows users the ability to receive banner notifications regardless of where they are in the phone, including Siri. For me personally, missing a banner or two isn't such a big deal but again for those who like to stay "in the know" this is a great complement to the TypeStatus tweak mentioned above.
This tweak I like. It's simple but really intuitive and some of you will say "big deal" but hey, sometimes it's the little things that matter right? Basically what this tweak does is adds a new way to close Safari tabs quickly and easily. When Safari is placed in tab view, tabs can be closed with a simple swipe of a finger up or down. It may sound crazy but it's actually really nice and speeds up the process of closing the unwanted tabs. Perhaps not the most sophisticated of all tweaks, but certainly a noteworthy one. This tweak is compatible with iOS 5 and iOS 6 systems.
This little tweak is a big on adding powerful changes to Siri that will quickly become a must-have for many jailbreakers. AssistantEnhancer has the ability to control a number of features not available to Siri in the standard iOS setup. Though the features are many, the most significant improvement it makes to Siri is the ability to control non-stock music applications such as Spotify, Grooveshark and Pandora. In Spotify for instance, you can configure up to two favorite playlists with just your voice and one quick tap once list is loaded. The fact that this tweak allows Siri to control all your favorite music sources, you'll soon find yourself gaining access to more music seamlessly.
There are some other cool features too though, For example, AssistantEnancer can search for concerts and music events in your local area, buy tickets, and so forth. AssistanEnhancer brings the same capabilities to the App Store as well, allowing search for apps by name. Once results are rendered, a tap on it leads you to the apps store and is ready to purchase or download. This tweak is compatible with all iOS 5 and iOS 6 jailbreak devices and is well worth the $1.99 asking price in the Cydia store. The developer is Zaid Elkurdi. You can find him on twitter @zaid_elkurdi
The last tweak I'm introducing today -- ActiveDock -- is, in my opinion, the best. Created as a team effort by Filippo Bigarella and Surenix, this Cydia jailbreak tweak is useful and attractive, optimizing iOS to resemble the OSX experience. In the regular fashion of ActiveDock's two outstanding designers, this tweak comes in at $1.99 on Cydia and is worth every bit of the money you will pay. Rendering a dock in the image of OSX 10, there are a number of great OSX-like features that come along with this new iOS 6 Cydia jailbreak tweak.
So what does ActiveDock do? Well, basically it is a tweak that not only makes your dock look good but adds some useful features. This dock stands apart from Winterboard and brings the following functionality features.
If you go to the Settings of the tweak/app, you'll find a bounce option, which allows you to customize bouncing behavior for your docked apps. For instance, you can elect for the app to bounce upon launch or whenever a new notification comes in. In addition, when you have apps open in the dock, a white thin line of light displays underneath it so you can quickly see which of your apps are running and end processes on those you wish to. With this tweak you can also configure the bounce to come at intervals or repeat constantly until you address the notification. So for example, if you get a DM in Twitter, your Twitter app in the dock will bounce and bounce until you answer -- if this is the setting you have it on. Personally this is a great feature to me particularly for important reminders. I'm the type that definitely needs that little "nudge" to remind me of stuff. ActiveDock just released Sunday in Cydia's Tweak store and is sure to be a hit. Check it out today!
