‘American Horror Story’ Season 3 Spoilers: Frances Conroy And Taissa Farmiga Cast; Farmiga Knows Plot Line
It's exciting news, "American Horror Story" fans! Season 1 L.A. Murder House star Taissa Farmiga has officially signed on for season three ... and co-creator Ryan Murphy just announced the addition of Frances Conroy!
Taissa Farmiga played outcast, tortured teen (and sometimes bratty) Violet in Season 1. Taking a break from the second season, Farmiga will now join the mini-series for its highly anticipated third season.
Farmiga's return to the FX series was rumored, but never officially announced until today. Murphy previously stated that he wanted the actress to return and had his heart set on a "'Romeo and Juliet' youth story," something that "Asylum" lacked this season.
Earlier today Ryan Murphy tweeted that Season 1 and 2 star Frances Conroy would be on board for the mysterious season three.
In Season 1 Conroy played a maid who worked for the Harmon family in the Murder House. She had died in the home at the hands of Jessica Lange's character, Constance. In Season 2 Conroy portrayed the Dark Angel, or "Angel of Death."
Jessica lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Evan Peters are also confirmed to return for season three.
"To get Taissa to come back, I had to pitch her the whole idea," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly of the season three plot line. "So some people know. But some of those actors don't want to know til they read a script."
Details on the third season are scarce, but we do know that Ryan Murphy is interested in "shooting in a place in the country where true horror has been."
