Galaxy Note 3 Release Date 2013: Leaked Photos Of New Samsung Processor Surface Ahead Of February Launch [REPORT: SPECS & FEATURES]
The Galaxy Note 3 release date is pegged for February 2013, but Samsung has already leaked photos of the phablet's Exynos 5 Octa processor. Read on for more Galaxy Note 3 release date news, specs and features.
Samsung appears to be hyping it's redesigned 6.3-inch smartphone ahead of the release date, which is currently rumored for February 2013 at or right around the same time as the upcoming annual Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Samsung previously teased the Galaxy Note 3 release date at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year, showing off how fast and powerful the Exynos 5 Octa will be.
Check out the CES 2013 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date teaser:
Once the Galaxy Note 3 arrives, Samsung's new chip will function in two different ways. The lighter Cortex-A7 will deal with "light tasks," according to the Christian Post. Meanwhile, the Cortex-A15 will handle the more "complicated tasks... allowing the processor to conserve energy."
"Samsung promises that its new Exynos 5 Octa will be the most powerful processor to ever be used on a smartphone or tablet," adds the Christian Post.
The Galaxy Note 3 release date won't be in the only Samsung event in 2013 to heavily feature the Exynos 5 Octa processor. The Galaxy S4 is also expected to feature the same chip. However, the Galaxy Note 3 release date is expected to launch ahead of the S4.
The Galaxy S4 release date is also expected to mark the introduction of Samsung-designed Tizen OS, which the company hopes to use instead of Android in an effort to decrease their dependence on Google, Bloomberg reported earlier this year.
Whether the Galaxy Note 3 release date in February 2013 could also feature Samsung's new operating system is unclear, but seems unlikely since the S4 is not expected to launch until this summer at the earliest.

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date fast approaching we already have a pretty good idea of what the third-generation phablet will look like and be capable of. The latest specs and features have the device sporting a 6.3-inch display and 8-core processor chip.
As for the Galaxy Note 3 release date itself, the latest reports place it at at MWC 2013, which runs February 24 to 28 in Barcelona, Spain. However, although Samsung has used the annual tech expo as a launching pad for their devices in the past, recent trends suggest the new phablet will get it's own special event, likely scheduled soon after MWC.
The Galaxy Note 3 release date is also expected to introduce the biggest smartphone ever, according to a report from Tech Radar. While the Note 2 featured a 5.5-inch, the redesigned device is rumored sport a display 0.8-inches larger.
The Galaxy Note 3 release date will also mark Samsung's continued push into the mobile market as TV sales (their classic money maker) have begun to dwindle, especially in North America.
"The real problem is that major television markets like the United States remain sluggish," an insider allegedly told Korea Times. "This is much worse than display-making manufacturers expected. In contrast, the demand for tablets is increasing and that market will see further explosive demand growth next year.... We can't resist but to actively respond to the new market trend."
We're also hearing rumors that the Galaxy Note 3 release date will finally see Samsung's famous flexible, unbreakable screen put to actual use. A company representative recently hinted at the upcoming launch, specs and features in an interview with PC Advisor
"Foldable, rollable, wearable and more, [and] will allow for a high degree of durability through their use of a plastic substrate that is thinner, lighter and more flexible than... conventional LCD technology."
Crazier than that, somehow, the Galaxy Note 3 release date could also introduce Samsung's cheapest phablet yet! How is that even possible, well it turns out the flexible screens are actually less expensive to manufacture.
"The rumor also has the flexible displays providing for a tidy manufacturing savings for all display manufacturers," The Inquisitor notes. " It is probably doubtful that Samsung and its competitors will lower the prices to compensate, so this means their smartphones, phablets and tablets will be have a higher profit margin."
The Galaxy Note 3 release date will mark Samsung's third phablet, the device that proved everyone wrong by succeeding. When the first Galaxy Note was released critics dismissed it as too big to catch on, and mockingly coined the term "phablet" to describe the smartphone-tablet hybrid.
But the Galaxy Note and it's name both caught on quickly, becoming a cult hit overnight. The first phablet sold over 20 million units before being replaced by the Note 2, which has currently sold over 10 million units. Samsung likely expects the Galaxy Note 3 release date to further bolster their phablet sales.
