Galaxy Note 8.0 Release Date 2013: Leaked Photos Show New Tablet Next To Galaxy Note 2
Following months of rumors, speculation, and photo leaks, yet another set of Galaxy Note 8.0 photos have emerged which allegedly show the upcoming 8-inch tablet side-by-side with Samsung's ultra-popular Galaxy Note 2.
French Android blog Frandroid uploaded the exclusive photos on Thursday, which show a large white tablet purported to be the Galaxy Note 8.0 next to its inspiration/predecessor the Galaxy Note 2. The blog didn't specify how it had obtained the Galaxy Note 8.0 photos, but the device pictured certainly looks similar to the device depicted in yesterday's leaked photos as well.

Heavily-rumored for months now, the Galaxy Note 8.0 appears to Samsung's answer to the growing popularity, and steadily increasing market share, of mid-range tablets like the iPad mini, Kindle Fire HD, or Nexus 7. While it's has yet to officially be announced by Samsung; Samsung Mobile executive JK Shin allegedly confirmed prior rumors that the Galaxy Note 8.0 would make its debut at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. Shin also reportedly confirmed the 8-inch HD display that the currently unannounced Galaxy Note 8.0 is named after.
This isn't the first time that photos of the Galaxy Note 8.0 have turned up online either. In fact, an unidentified source just leaked several photos of the Galaxy Note 8.0 to Italian tech site DDay.it earlier this week. Rumored tech specs for the Galaxy Note 8.0 also appeared online earlier this month, and early speculation has the Galaxy Note 8.0 heading to market with a 1280 x 800 display, 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 will also be one of the seemingly dwindling number of Android devices which retains support for up to 32GB of expandable storage via micro-SD. Of course, the popular S-Pen stylus will also make its return, though it's unknown if it will be the same S-Pen tech included with the Galaxy Note 2 or an updated stylus of some kind. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is also expected to feature a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, comparable to its chief rival the iPad mini.
Update: Engadget stumbled upon a new FCC filing for a tablet which they believe to be for the rumored Galaxy Note 8.0.
