Jennifer Lawrence is officially the world's Most Desirable Woman, at least according to the folks at popular online destination AskMen.

The website released its annual Most Desirable Women list this week, and Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence managed to best some serious competition to secure the top spot. Fellow actress Mila Kunis came in second, though we don't doubt that the judges have some serious trouble deciding between the two.

Some may be surprised to see Jennifer Lawrence topping AskMen's Most Desirable Woman list this year, particularly after the actress was ranked 47 last year. Many have attributed the drastic uptick in interest in all things Jennifer Lawrence to her seemingly down to earth attitude, and willingness to act silly/informal during interviews or while on the red carpet.

She also turned a few heads during a trip to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last month, though it was hardly the first time Jennifer Lawrence has had people talking this year. In fact, Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in a number of upcoming films thanks to her impressive performance as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. Our own Anthony Smith also had some thoughts on why Jennifer Lawrence was named "Most Desirable Woman" instead of last year's winner Sofia Vergara.

Runner-up Mila Kunis is no stranger to the "Most Desirable Woman" list either, though she's climbed a few spots in the rankings over the last twelve months. Kunis was ranked 13 on last year's "Most Desirable Woman" list, though she's vaulted over some notable contenders in the interim.

The AskMen Most Desirable Women list's Top 5 was rounded out by American model Kate Upton, singer Rihanna, and Amazing Spiderman actress Emma Stone. Some were shocked that the top honors didn't go to Upton, particularly after the model was last year's runner-up, more were undoubtedly shocked to see that Kim Kardashian plummeted from the top ten all the way down to 98.

Clearly, Twitter approves this year's "Most Desirable Woman" list:
