Angus T. Jones Apologizes; Charlie Sheen Calls Show ‘Cursed’ After ‘Filth’ Video
"Two and a Half Men" star Angus T. Jones has issued an apology after his rant about the CBS sitcom went viral.
TMZ published excerpts from a statement 19-year-old Jones released following his video trashing the show.
"Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive form them," said Jones. "I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that."
Those that have been following the story will remember that Angus T. Jones called the sitcom (where he makes a reported $350,000 per episode) "filth" and urged viewers to stop watching.
"'Two and a Half Men'- if you watch 'Two and a Half Men' please stop watching 'Two and a Half Men,'" Jones said in an interview with Christian organization The Forerunner Chronicles. "I'm on 'Two and a Half Men,' and I don't want to be on it. Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth. Please."
The rant from Angus T. Jones comes a little over a year after former "Two and a Half Men" star, Charlie Sheen, was fired. Sheen, who at the time was "winning" and on "tiger blood," had issued a scathing rant bashing creator Chuck Lorre.
Now, Sheen is speaking out about Jones' video. The actor, who now stars on the FX series "Anger Management," revealed the following to People.com:
"With Angus' Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear to me that the show is cursed."
CBS has yet to release a statement, but a source close to Warner Bros. explained that the show has "no plans" on dropping Jones. Angus T. Jones will not appear in the next two episodes, but his absense is not said to be related to the video.
