'Iron Man 3' Spoilers: How Will Tony Stark Defeat The Mandarin And Save Pepper? [SPOILERS]
Earlier this week, the amazing and kind of confusing trailer for "Iron Man 3" was released. "Iron Man 3," featuring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ben Kingsley, is expected to be released on May 3, launching the second phase of Marvel's Cinematic Universe. But, it seems like a cast member might have leaked some very interesting spoilers on what will happen in Tony Stark's next adventure.
Andrew Lawden, a current Marvel employee and a stuntman/actor, spoke about "Iron Man 3" in a recent radio interview. According to Screenrant.com, Lawden's information comes from witnessing the scenes first-hand, but know that its really rare that Marvel employees can give such huge spoilers without suffering repercussions (in other words, either this information is fake or Lawden's going to get in some trouble).

Lawden recent spoke to BombadRadio, initially to discuss his role in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace," but also decided to talk about what he saw on the set of "Iron Man 3."
"Well, there's going to be a big fight sequence with The Mandarin, who's the main villain, which will involve none other than forty different iron man suits. There's an amazing rescue where The Mandarin basically wants to bring down the American government and kill the President, and he launches an attack on Air Force One. All of them - the President and his men and staff - get sucked out of the plane, and Iron Man rescues them by forming this amazing human chain in the sky.
"There's some pretty spectacular stuff that goes on. There's an amazing sequence where he has this rooftop house that he builds to store all his Iron Man suits, and it gets attacked by The Mandarin and these gunships [...] I was shocked to discover there are like forty Iron Man suits written into this feature in various ways...so that's going to be pretty impressive. But apparently he needs this Iron Man army to go up against The Mandarin's forces."
Also, Lawden confirmed that Tony Stark would undergo some "biological changes." Those familiar with the "Extremis" comic book mini series, which "Iron Man 3" is based on, know that, in the story, Tony Stark injects himself with "nanobots," which is similar to the serum given to Steve Rogers aka Captain America, and also allows Tony Stark to control multiple Iron Man suits at the same time. Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, confirmed the nanobots...kinda. From Collider, "Now we see he's invented a technology that allows him to basically have the suit arrive to him anywhere at any time, piece by piece, aand it doesn't always work at first."
This makes it possible for what Lawden says in his interview, of an army of 40 Iron Man suits. Also, judging from set photos from "Iron Man 3," it seems like there will be a mid-air rescue. Even though these rumors seem a little too good to be true, and might be just another way Marvel could be trying to dupe us, there is a chance that it could be true, since there is corroborating evidence.
What's going to happen to Pepper in "Iron Man 3?" In "The Avengers," Pepper had a glorified cameo role, and was basically in only two scenes. But, from the "Iron Man 3" trailer that was released earlier this week, it seems like there could be some trouble in paradise for Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, besides getting blown up by The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). From what I could tell, Potts was getting hit on by Guy Pearce, who makes an appearance in the film. According to Feige, Potts will play an integral role in "Iron Man 3." "That's one of the things we love about Tony. It is not a new girl in every film. Pepper Potts is an incredibly important part of his life and his evolution as a hero. She plays a very big part in this film."
Will Pepper and Tony both survive the wrath of The Manadrin? We'll have to wait until May 3, 2012, when "Iron Man 3" comes out in theaters.
