"American Horror Story" is already underway with its second season, but believe it or not, the mini-series is still filming! How do we know? Season one vet Dylan McDermott tweeted from the "Asylum" set!
When season one of "American Horror Story" ended last spring, co-creator Ryan Murphy broke some hearts when he revealed that only a handful of stars from the first season would be working their way over to season two. Among the lucky chosen names were Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Zachary Quinto. Unfortunately, Dylan McDermott, who played psychiatrist and cheating father Dr. Ben Harmon was not one of them. In mid October it seemed that Murphy had changed his mind though, tweeting: "So thrilled to announce Dylan McDermott is returning to 'American Horror Story!'"
Murphy's post was quickly filled by responses of joy...and one of them happened to be from Dermott himself! 'So f***ing excited," he commented on Murphy's tweet.
Although Murphy didn't reveal any information surrounding McDermott's guest appearance, fans are getting closer to discovering his identity on the spooky second season, "Asylum."
While McDermott's tweet didn't reveal much about his stint, we do have a couple theories.
1. McDermott will be playing Leo's (Adam Levine) brother.
McDermott and Levine kind of look alike (both are tall, have dark hair and are very handsome), so it's possible that his character could be Leo's brother. Last time "American Horror Story" viewers spotted newlywed's Leo and Teresa they had just escaped Bloody Face only to run into two more. This time instead of getting stabbed or having a limb ripped off they took a couple bullets to the chest. One theory we have is that McDermott's character will go looking for his brother...and make the gruesome discover at Briarcliff.
2. McDermott is Dr. Thredson's (Zachary Quinto) lover.

Smith has an idea revolving around Dr. Thredson and Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson) aversion/conversion gay-cure therapy. According to his theory, Dr. Thredson underwent "a similar ex-gay conversion at some point in his professional career," leading him off the deep-end by "repressing his sexual desires." While many back stories have been revealed, Thredson's has yet to see the light of day. Will a future episode reveal that Thredson had a sexual relationship with McDermott's character.
3.McDermott is Lana's editor.
Lana has been mentioning the editor of her newspaper quite frequently, telling Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) and others that he'll discover the truth. McDermott could potentially visit Briarcliff as Lana's editor. But like many that visit, he won't make it out alive.
What do you think the plot line behind Dylan McDermott's return to "American Horror Story" is?
